Some of you may recognize my username. I was one of the very first members on the very very first fullsizechevy website. I’m glad to see the name back from the dead. It’s unfortunate that all the data was lost. The wealth of information on that site was mind boggling! But I’ll see if I can’t help out with get this site back to its olden days.
Yes we are trying to revive it and bring it back from the dead. I dont know what happened exactly but it had went offline in 2018. I just so happened to keep tabs on the domain over the past few years and finally made the investment last year to purchase it. I didn’t get anywhere with the old data however - but will be trying to document and film any sort of fixes that I do for my fleet of trucks.
It’ll be good to preserve information for the future generations!!
I may still have some of my builds saved on my old laptop. If I do I’ll post them. I’m excited to see the name sake back. I spent my late teens to my early thirties posting on FSC. Granted, life is far busier now than ever. But I’m definitely going to help add as much information as I can.

Recently got an '04 Tahoe LT with 148,000 original miles from a municipal government auction here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Under $4k with TT&L and they sent me a 10 page spreadsheet with all the maintenance and repair work done since it was new!
Always been a Chevy guy but this is my first full size. First car was an S-10 with the 4.3L and grew up with an '86 Safari and my dad upgraded from that to a '95 full size conversion van. My Tahoe replaces an ‘86 Astro that was near identical to our old Safari. It was still running and driving when I got rid of it but I needed something a little bigger and newer to pull my boat when I upgraded from a 14" Grumman to a 17’ Grumman.
I don’t have any big plans for it other than regular maintenance and repairs, new stereo, and minor cosmetic items. Already replaced the yellowed headlights after sanding with 400 grit for about 20 minutes in 100F heat and throwing the restoration kit in the trash. Got a new gauge cluster with the transmission temp gauge on the way as the original one has most of the bulbs burned out and I don’t feel like soldering. Also the button to switch from odo to trip odo isn’t working so out with the old, in with the new (refurb). The gauge dimmer switch was cutting out so I’ve already replaced it with an el-cheapo Amazon special for $20 that seems to be doing the trick. Also replaced the two interior door lights and rear reflectors as they were missing or broken when I got it. Original cloth interior is in great shape though the third row is missing. Might pick up a set in case I need to haul more than 5 people but that would be super uncommon and I prefer the cargo room. The driver’s side rear headrest wouldn’t collapse so the rear seat wouldn’t fold down all the way but after a bit of penetrating lubricant up the cable and a bit of exercising it decided to do its job so all good there.
That is certainly a good upgrade! I do quite like the bubble eyes, that was a nice front end from factory. Nice work on the headlights - I just did my 900 as well. 400/1000/2000/2500/3000 grit wet sand and coated with meguiar’s headlight coating. hopefully the coating lasts longer than a year (time will tell)
Hello my fellow FullSizeChevy enthusiasts my name is Mike AKA NOGAP2WIDE and this beautiful BEAST is my, 1988 V10 AKA K5 Blazer Silverado. Currently I’ve started working on replacement of the floors and fabricating a custom brush guard from 1-½" schedule 80 pipe & also front and rear bumpers from 304 stainless food grade tubing. The running boards are GONE! But other than that it 100% bone stock. Picked this beauty up for $500 on the side of the road from an old farmer that said it had sat there for 15 years.
Welcome brother and WOW what a steal!! $500 for that on the side of the road seems like an insanely good deal! No rust too by the looks of it either? That’ll be a very nice project! I almost scored a K15000 4x4 manual big block truck a few weeks ago but it sold too quickly aha. Lookng back, it’s probably good that I did not score it as I need to finish up a few things!
