Adding bass to a T1XX Silverado/Sierra doesn’t have to mean losing bed or cab space. Here are the cleanest options.
T1XX Space Constraints
The T1XX has a large crew cab interior but limited under-seat space. The front seat lower cushion is close to the floor, and the rear seat folds flat — both factors that limit large sub enclosures.
Best T1XX Subwoofer Options:
1. JL Audio T1XX-Specific Sub Systems
JL Audio makes factory-integration sub systems for T1XX trucks that mount under the rear seat. These maintain the factory look, include the amp, and deliver serious bass.
2. Thin Powered Under-Seat Sub
Slim-form powered subs under 3.5" tall can fit under the T1XX front or rear seat. The Rockford Fosgate PS-8 (4.5" tall) and JL Audio SBX series are the most popular.
3. Hidden Box in Extended Cab Area
On double-cab T1XX models, the behind-seat area allows a moderate ported or sealed box.
Amp Installation:
Run power from the battery, signal from the head unit’s preamp output or via LOC from rear speakers. The VIOFO A119 Mini 2 Dash Cam can share the same hardwire kit if you’re already running wires.
Sound Level Balance:
Set the sub gain slowly and match to your main speakers. T1XX factory speakers have decent midbass, so the sub mainly needs to fill 40-80Hz.
What’s your priority: max bass or clean integration?
