How FSC Is Organized
FSC is split by truck generation, so you can drop straight into the section for your year and model:
- Classic Chevy/GMC (1947–1972) — Advance Design and Action Line
- Squarebody (1973–1987) — C/K 10/20/30, Blazer, Suburban
- GMT400 / OBS (1988–1998) — the original “OBS”
- GMT800 / NBS (1999–2006) — NBS Silverado/Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban (includes 2007 Classic)
- GMT900 / NNBS (2007–2013)
- K2XX (2014–2018)
- T1XX (2019+) — latest Silverado/Sierra, including EV
- Diesel Tech & Duramax — all Duramax generations
- Audio, Video & Lighting — stereo, cameras, lighting
- General Truck Discussion — anything that spans generations
Each generation has the same subcategories inside it: Interior, Exterior, Suspension/Wheels/Tires, Performance & Tuning, Stereo/Wiring/Electronics, and Technical & Maintenance. Post in the one that fits your truck and your question.

Using FSC on Your Phone
Most members read FSC from the garage or the driveway. You can set it up to work like an app and keep you in the loop without living in your inbox.
Add FSC to Your Home Screen
This puts an FSC icon on your phone and opens the forum full-screen, without the browser bars. It is a shortcut to the site — not a separate app to download.
- Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu (top right) → Add to Home screen (or Install app) → confirm.
- iPhone (Safari): tap the Share button (the square with the up arrow) → scroll down → Add to Home Screen → Add.
Turn On Notifications
Notifications let FSC ping you when someone replies to you or when a new topic lands in a category you follow.
- Android: open FSC, tap your avatar → the gear/Preferences → Notifications, and allow notifications when your phone asks.
- iPhone: you must add FSC to your Home Screen first (see above), then open it from that icon and enable notifications in Preferences → Notifications. Apple only allows web push on iPhone once the site is installed to the Home Screen.
Only turn on what you’ll actually want. Follow the generations and topics that matter to you, not everything — that’s how you keep notifications useful instead of noise.
Notification Levels — What They Mean
You can set a level per category or per individual topic. Tap the bell on any category or topic to change it:
- Normal — you’re notified only if someone replies to you, quotes you, or @mentions you.
- Tracking — same as Normal, plus you see unread/new counts for that category.
- Watching First Post — you get notified when a new topic is posted, but not every reply. Good for Announcements or a generation you care about.
- Watching — you get notified of every new topic and every reply. Use this only for a specific build thread or a category you never want to miss.
If you’re new, leave most things on Normal or Tracking and set Watching First Post on your own generation. You can change it any time.
Posting From Your Phone
Post Your Truck Photos
Photos make FSC worth reading. Posting them from a phone is easy:
- Start a reply or new topic, tap the upload icon (looks like a picture or an up-arrow), and pick photos from your camera roll.
- iPhone HEIC photos work fine — so do JPG, PNG, and WebP. You can attach several at once.
- Big shots are OK (up to ~10 MB each), but if uploads stall on cell service, wait for Wi-Fi.
Start a Topic
Tap + New Topic, pick the right generation subcategory, give it a clear title (year, engine, and the problem help a lot), and post. A title like “2004 5.3 Low Oil Pressure at Hot Idle” pulls in the right people.
Finding New Stuff and Saving It
- New and Unread live in the sidebar/menu and show you what’s changed since your last visit.
- Bookmark any useful thread (the bookmark icon under a post) so you can find that fix again later. Your bookmarks are under your avatar.
