A leveling kit on the 2014–2018 Silverado/Sierra 1500 is one of the first mods most K2XX owners do. Here’s the rundown on the best options.
What a Leveling Kit Does:
Adds a spacer on top of the front strut to raise the front of the truck to match the rear. Corrects the factory nose-down rake for a level, more aggressive stance.
K2XX 1500 Factory Rake:
The K2XX 1500 sits about 1.5–2" lower in front than the rear from the factory.
Best Options:
#1: Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit (1307)
Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit – 2007–2018 Silverado/Sierra 1500 – The most popular choice. Aluminum CNC machined spacers, direct fit, no drilling required.
#2: Zone Offroad 2" Leveling Kit
Similar quality to Rough Country at a comparable price. Steel spacers, very durable.
#3: Bilstein 5100 Series Adjustable Shocks
Bilstein 5100 Series Front Shocks – The “level with shocks” approach. Replace the front shocks with Bilstein 5100s set to position 2 or 3 for a 1.5–2.5" lift. Better ride quality than a spacer alone.
Tire Fitment After Level:
- 17" wheels: 265/70R17 or 285/65R17 fits without rubbing
- 18" wheels: 275/65R18 or 285/65R18 fits cleanly
- 20" wheels: 295/60R20 fits on most builds
Alignment Required:
Front alignment is mandatory after leveling. Budget $80–$120.
Installation Time:
2–3 hours with basic tools. Spring compressor not required for spacer-style kits.
