Hi guys, it’s been about two years since I put the boost auto wireless charger in my '02 800 and I must say I am super happy with it. It’s handy to have a charging pad on the factory console and to get rid of any cords/cables. It charges fairly quick @ 15W. By no means is it a “fast charger” but as this rig is mostly used for towing/road trips I’ve enjoyed having it.
It fits well, looks good, grips larger phones with ease. I am currently using it to charge a Samsung S25+ with a case so it will fit larger phones.
Installation is straightforward: pop off the factory upper console top, and you’re halfway there. You will have to drill the lid to run the charger wiring down into the console compartment. The wireless charger pad simply “slides” into place of the factory upper top. You could glue it down if you wanted to hard install it - I kept mine just floating on top in case I want to remove it for cleaning.
If you have a rig with a console and rear 12V outlet the kit includes a connector to tie right into the factory rear 12V for a clean, hidden install. The harness simply ties in before the rear outlet to provide power to the charger.
If you don’t have a rear 12v outlet (like my '02) it’s no sweat either, as it comes with enough cable to reach the front dash. In this case I simply had to remove the console trays, fish the wiring to the dash, and connect to the dash 12V. Anytime you have to lay on your back and wire stuff under a dash is not a good time, but surprisingly this wasn’t too bad of a task.
There is an indicator light on the charger that stays on unless you disable it. For trucks that sit for extended periods of time, it would be recommended to turn the LED off by pressing and holding the button!
Thanks and happy trucking!
