The K2XX (2014–2018) Silverado/Sierra came with the MyLink infotainment system. While functional, modern upgrades add wireless CarPlay and improved interface. Here are your options.
The K2XX MyLink System
The stock K2XX MyLink is an 8" or 7" touchscreen that supports wired CarPlay/Android Auto on 2016+ models with the RPO UC8 package. Earlier 2014-2015 models don’t support CarPlay natively.
Option 1: Factory CarPlay Activation (2016+)
If your K2XX is a 2016+ model with MyLink, and CarPlay isn’t working, the most common issue is:
- Needing the correct USB cable (Lightning, not charging-only)
- System software update available at dealer
Option 2: Wireless CarPlay Adapter (Clearest Upgrade)
For 2016+ trucks with wired CarPlay, a wireless CarPlay adapter converts wired to wireless. These dongles plug into the USB port and eliminate cable management.
Option 3: Full Aftermarket Head Unit
For 2014-2015 K2XX models without factory CarPlay, a Kissound 7" Double DIN replacement requires a K2XX-specific dash kit and wiring adapter.
The replacement delivers full wireless CarPlay, touchscreen navigation, and backup camera integration.
