Before & After thread? This is where the trucks go from purchase-day to now.
OP kicked it off because he couldn’t find an official before-and-after thread and wanted ideas on what to do next.
Thread kickoff
The original poster dropped his truck from 3/1/2010 and the same rig on 10/10/2011, adding, “Feel free to post some suggestions as to what I should do next with it.. I am kind of lost on what I want to do. I wish I would have kept it more OEM style look to it.”
Early replies
- “Bumper and cap should be rino lined to match the rockers.”
- When he said he wished he’d stayed OEM, one reply fired back “get to work” and another just wrote “looked better before Mason.”
Mirror talk
- “I really like that 3500HD, I’d like to see some 95+ mirrors on it, but anything beats those elephant ears that were on here before those chrome ones,” and the same fan also noted “Also nice smoked cab lights Rich.”
- The owner said he kept the dumbo ears for towing visibility, sold the large plastic mirrors to his parts customers, and added “By the way, those aren’t the smoked cab lights, but the plain clear ones - Recon offers them both ways.”
- Chin Strap clarified the dumbo ears were in the “Before” picture and asked, “I never understood why the 3500s have that piece in between the bumper and grill, do they come with 3’ body lifts from the factory and thats their filler piece?”
Gallery flow
- A bunch of replies were just “Before” and “After” with pictures, from “A day or so after I bought it” to plain “Now.”
- One member wrote, “I’ve got so many before & afters it’s sick,” and listed the '92 C1500, '94 Suburban, '94 C2500LD, and '94 3500HD builds plus “Write-ups with a million pictures in the link in my sig.”
- Bigbob6988 pointed out, “Now…(it has 37” X-terrains on it now)."
- BigBlackHD kept going with “The HD before:”/“The HD now:” and a “My 99 Z71 before:”/“When I traded it:” set. BluZ71Silverado just said “Before, October '06 or so.” and “Now.”
- Someone asked, “Looks stock to me. What did you modify? Truck looks sick as hell!” Another reply said “debadge and demold.”
