Post your real MPG — new calculator is live

New tool is up: https://fullsizechevy.com/tools/mpg-calculator/

Distance, fuel, engine. That’s it. It gives you your number and tells you where it sits against everyone else running the same engine.

The catch is that last part only works if people use it. Right now most engines have nothing in them, so you’ll just see recent results instead of a comparison. Five submissions on an engine and the comparison turns on for that engine. This will be helpful down the road to see where people run for actual reported mileage.

So: next time you fill up, run your tank through it. Or if you already track this, put in the last one you did by hand.

A few things worth knowing:

It compares you against your own engine, not some blanket target. A 454 gets judged against other 454s, not against a Duramax. And it uses the median, not the average, so one guy fat-fingering 87 mpg doesn’t wreck the number for everyone.

Nothing is stored except the figure and the engine. No account, no name, no email. There’s a checkbox if you’d rather not have yours counted.

Landing in the bottom third doesn’t mean something’s wrong with your truck. Towing, city driving, 35s and a lift will all put you there honestly!

I will be using the calculator with each fill up going forward.
I’d think that after a year or two we will see some good data on fuel mileage!
